Crafty

I wanted to do a craft every day while I was home. I haven't done one every single day, in fact I have only done about 4 and I have been here over a week. I am the 90% kind of crafter. I get almost finished and decide to move on to something else or decide it is fine how it is and just leave it. Now that I think about it, I do about 90% on just about everything.

This was my first craft. My niece Cora is having a birthday soon so I decided to make her a crown but soon realized that I couldn't give Cora a crown and not Jenna so I made her one too. I am pretty sure that Cora and Jenna don't read this blog so I am ok. If they do- Lorinda, tell them to close their eyes!

Emmie is obsessed with buttons so I thought it would be fun to make her a little square with buttons, zipper, ribbons and stuff on it. She pretty much loved it except I had to fish a bobble out of her mouth yesterday so it is cute but apparently not baby proof.

This is our crafty shirt group. We made some awesome shirts. It was really fun to have everyone over. I am surprised that we got all the shirts done with all those babies! They were all really cute. Too bad Bailey can't be seen- she is really cute believe me.

Of course here are the headbands. When you have a baby with as little hair as I do you have to accessorize their head.

Enjoying DC

I am currently in DC for a week doing research at the National Archives. So far, so good. It looks like there isn't as much here as I thought for me to look at -so I might have a little free time to goof around town. Right now I am sitting in a fabulous little smoothie-frozen yogurt-juice place called Tangy Sweet. I got some wheatgrass and a nice little smoothie. I chatted with the owner a bit and he seems like a likable enough fellow. They have 2 locations one 7th and E and another in Dupont Circle. So - any DC readers out there - go patronize these guys. Local start-ups deserve support.

I'm staying with Rhett, an old friend from Romania. It has been fun to catch up and he and his wife (and 2 kids) are being VERY hospitable. I am most grateful.

More later,

B.

We weren't as young as we thought we were.

We (Rusty, Carianne, Lorinda, Matthew, Jeff, Brenden and I) decided it would be a good idea to travel to CA and go to Disneyland after Gregg and Rachael's reception. This was my brother Jeff's idea because you get in free on your birthday. Lorinda and Matthew were nice enough to drive their motor home so we all piled in about 10:00PM to start the journey. Kate and Emmie decided they were too young for Disneyland so they stayed behind with Grandpa and Grandma Clawson.

We found out very quickly that we are not as young as we once were. What made us think that we could drive all night and then stay the whole day at Disneyland? We didn't quite make it all the way and had to make a nap stop in a Walmart parking lot around 3:00AM.

Here is the Birthday Boy with Woody.

It was actually really cold and Lorinda being from Phoenix only owns flip flops. She decided to buy a pair of socks and wear them under her flip flops. We made her walk 10 feet behind all of us. We also gave her a new nickname: Sandy (short for Sandal).

Here is the gang in front of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. Boy, was it wild.

Brenden actually really likes Small World though he won't ever admit it to you.

Although we are totally old and had to take an afternoon nap in the motor home around 4:00PM we had a really fun time. Thanks for the great birthday party Kevin. . . I mean Jeff. (Jeff wore a birthday button around that said Kevin. Obviously the guy at the ticket counter didn't ask if he went by Kevin)

Nice Wedding Gregg and Rachael

My brother Gregg got married this past Friday. It was really lovely. Here are Gregg and Rachael coming out of the Mesa Temple. I LOVE Rachael's dress. Good job Rachael.

This is a picture of both of the families. I put this on here because I want you to notice where I am. I am the third from the top. I guess I didn't find my window.

Can you find me in this picture? Yup, hidden again.

Here are the two girls (Kate and Emmie) in their really cute matching polka-dot dresses. They loved the party.

Welcome to the family Rachael!

Fun with Photoshop

Brenden and I have been playing around with Photoshop Elements. It has been really fun. We don't really know what we are doing yet but here are a few things have figured out. . .

Arizona Here We Come!

This is my brother Gregg. He loves to make casseroles.

Gregg is agoraphobic and has severe allergic reactions to fresh air. Here he is mid-sneeze.

Thankfully he has found a girl who has helped him overcome his fears.

Her name is Rachael. We really like her, even though she does not fit in camping chairs.

Welcome to the family Rachael.

We can't wait to find further opportunities to embarrass you publicly on our blog.

We'll see you at your wedding in 2 days! Enjoy your last 36 hours as Fuller. Once you go Clawson, you never go back.

Emmie's 1st Bathing Suit

I know, I know - its still winter, right? "Why are we buying a swim suit?!" That's what I said. However, Julianne prevailed and now Emilia has a swimsuit. Julianne picked it because she would wear it her self, if it fit. It will be fun this summer to take her in the pool. She really likes splashing in the bath, so hopefully she'll like the pool too.

Our friends up stairs, Carly and Laban, brought down this little scooter-bike thing for Emmie tonight. She seems to like it already.

Dining room face lift

Since we have been married we have been using folding chairs at our dining room table. They work great but I have always wanted "real" chairs. We got these for free so I thought I would give them a little face lift.

Craft Addiction

I have a confession. I am addicted to craft blogs (this is Julianne by the way- Brenden would never read craft blogs or admit it if he did). I read them probably more than a normal person should. I was inspired by Carianne's latest post found here. I had made little Kate a onesie for Christmas but hadn't made anything for Emmie in a long time so I tried it out this week.

I thought they turned out really good- it is just the freezer paper stencil and some wonder under. Gotta love that stuff. So I am taking requests if you want anything in particular. I think my next project will be a shirt for myself that says "fanalow" with maybe a picture of Barry.
