Breakfast Conversation...
Brenden: "I'm groggy this morning."
Emmie: "You're a froggy?"
Brenden: "No, groggy means your tired."
Emmie: "You're a tiger?"

No longer single
We were recently released from our singles ward calling (sniff, sniff). We would come home using words like animal, nuts-o and crazy to describe Emmie's behavior. It was at that point we came to the realization that she needed nursery. I think we were just in denial for a long time.
We absolutely loved being in the ward. There wasn't much work involved, it was more just socializing with friends and we will miss them! After three years, I don't know how well we will adapt to our new family ward. We hear they are noisy but at least the noise won't be coming from just our kid.
Emmie will miss all of you adopted aunts and uncles so come on over for a visit every once in a while or call us up if you want an old married couple with a toddler to tag along what ever you are doing.

Neighborhood Hobos, or ALIENS!
I think our neighborhood has a hobo or extra-terrestrial problem. Here's our evidence.
Exhibit 1: So, earlier today we saw a weird looking guy with a fanny pack running through peoples' lawns. He was crouching down and picking at the grass when he saw us drive up and he quickly scampered off.
Exhibit 2: Tonight while on a walk we noticed LOTS of weird markings on the sidewalks along with large circular piles of chalk dust. These could be old-fashioned, hobo/tramp markings, but I'm not ruling out extra-terrestrials either.

Cryptic arrows with 3 slashes on the end. What could it mean?!
Who, or WHAT is "BN"?!?!
Finally, the crop-circle-esque piles of chalk dust. Perfectly round.
Any thoughts?

Cabin Fever
Well, we survived and it was wonderful. Brenden, Emmie and I drove up to Mack's Inn (Island Park, ID) last week and had a great time with the family. Gregg and Rachael drew the short straw and had to drive with us in our new Paquito Vanito. Note: the drive is 16 hours.
We decided to have lunch in Flagstaff, AZ at one of my favorite sandwich shops, Crystal Creek Sandwiches. It was just after 10:30 AM and I didn't know if they would be open but we found out they open at 9:00AM. I think this is totally bizarre since they only serve sandwiches and beer. Best veggie sandwich ever.
We stopped and had dinner with some great friends in Cedar City and they even fed us breakfast the next morning. What service. We didn't take any pictures with Jake and Andrea but just know they are very good looking people.
What was fun about this vacation was everyone in the Clawson clan was able to make it... even Rusty... the original in-law. These pictures are in no order and I could have posted all 500 of them but these few are proof that we did have fun together.
Thanks to Grandpa and Grandma B for letting us take over your cabin. We loved every minute of it!

Happy Birthday to Brenden
Today is officially the day. Brenden is no longer a 20 something. He is a 30 something.
My parents threw him a root beer themed party with 30 different varieties of bottled root beer. They never threw a party like this for any of their "real" children. They went all out with root beer candy, root beer keg, decorations, root beer cupcakes. . .
We had a taste testing session where we rated the different flavors. For instance, I had always thought that Dad's root beer was OK but comparing that to say Bulldog, it tastes like dirty socks. Thanks for the party everyone!
Happy 30th Birthday Brenden!

Crop Circles
Need your lawn mowed?
Brenden can do any design you ask for. Circles, argyle, messages, names, polka dots, hounds tooth, plaid... the possibilities are endless.
Can you tell he is enjoying having a yard?

Amputate!
Tonight Emmie was sitting on Julianne's lap, leaning back and then having Julianne pull her back up. On one pull, Julianne heard a pop in Emmie's right elbow and the kiddo started screaming. After a few minutes of her holding it, we decided to take her to the clinic. The way there and in the waiting room she would use her other arm, but not her right one. As you can imagine, lots of crying all the way. The doctor said it was probably just "nursemaid elbow." He did a few twists of her arm, it popped and within a couple minutes when I asked her where her owee was she showed me the wrong arm. So just like that the pain was gone and she was running out to get her stickers. Phew. Good thing we didn't have to amputate.
And sorry to Aaron and Whitney whose night of game playing with us was cut short. At least we ate some good grub, right?

Freckles
No, those aren't spots on your computer screen. I knew it was only a matter of time before Emmie got freckles and I have to say I am happy to report she is getting some! Now if she can just grow some hair.

Trip to Lincoln
My parents, Randy and Jody, along with my sister Carianne and her toddler Kate drove out last week to help us move into a new place. It was so nice having them here. They were a huge help! There is no way we could have done it without them. Thank you!
We did manage to squeeze in some fun in between all the chaos. Here is some proof...
A big thanks goes out to everyone who also came and helped us pack and unpack the moving truck. You guys are awesome!
