Thats right, Julianne and I are making an ad hoc trip down to Arizona tomorrow. Next week is her Spring Break, and since I'm done with classes I can be gone for a week too. While she plays, shops and hangs out with friends and family next week, I am going to dig through dusty old archives for dissertation research! AWESOME! I love dust!
Coincidentally, we will overlap 2 days with my best friend Ken (and his sister and sister's husband) who will be down there on vacation and 1 day with my parents that will be down there. How delightfully fortuitous!
On a side note - tonight I am playing a solo set with my guitar. It will be my first show in about 2 years! Yikes!

Waiting Period for Explosive Vests?
Really, I don't just sit around all day watching videos from the Onion. I just browse headlines every once in a while. This one was classic. Also, check out the latest installment of Chicago Piblic Radio and NPR's This American Life that featured a segment on how The Onion writers come up with headlines. Very funny. Just click on the "free download" to listen to it.

Meaty Meat Meat
So, the other night we grilled up some major ribs with some friends. We think they came from Hogzilla because it was a good 15 pounds of ribs. Between the 12 people there, we still had leftovers. Very tasty.
Brenden and 1/2 of the ribs. It was very cold out, hence the ridiculous hat. Julianne accuses Brenden of being a carnivore and thinks he will get scurvy. This is totally preposterous because he eats lots of fruits (not many vegetables) and also takes a multivitamin. Actually, he makes delicious fruit smoothies on a regular basis. So take that Julianne! (expect a smoothie blog soon)
Brenden teaching Ella how to eat raw meat like a true carnivore. You can see Brenden's homemade rub in the Tupperware. It was a mean rub - Paprika, Cayenne, Basil, Rosemary, Pepper, Salt, Garlic and Onion stuff, Cumin . . . the list goes on. It was delicious. The exact amounts of each are top secret. We'll just say that Brenden is a grillin' fool. A grillin' machine. A big bad mean foolish grillin' machine.

Turntable Needed, Donations Accepted
Dear Everyone,
I am looking to buy a record player / turntable. I have recently started collecting some vinyl, but have nothing to play them on. So sad. Let me know if you guys know of anyone selling or giving one away.
ALSO - if anyone has some vinyl LPs that jive with my music taste, and you want to sell - drop me a line!
