Candidacy!

Good news everyone! I just found out last night that I officially passed all of my comprehensive exams! Woo hoo! That means that I am now a Ph.D. candidate. In other words, I have done everything but my dissertation. Granted, that is probably the hardest phase, but I'm excited to be there. It will be nice to say that I'm ABD. Finally!!!

Congratulations! How long should your dissertation take?

2-3 years. It has to be between 300-500 pages long. I want it to be really well polished too, because right after that I have to start reworking it into a book manuscript to get published. So, the closer to manuscript quality, the easier the publishing phase will be. Ugh! It will be a lot of work, but at least it is “my work.” Wish me luck.
